An article in a newspaper. That's what it says:
> BOSTON (June 11) The federal agency that governs New England's
> troubled fisheries is buried under more than 100 lawsuits - more than six
> times the number pending just six years ago - and devoting more and more
> of its resources to handling legal challenges.
> To defend itself from the growing number of suits, the National Marine
> Fisheries Service now dedicates 10 percent of its 2,500 staff members to
> litigation. Etc., etc.

An old lawyer decided to take a fortnight fishing trip. He asked his son,
himself a young lawyer, to take care of the office during his absence.
"And don't forget the Smith vs. Jones case" - said the father, while loading
his tackle onto the station-wagon.
Two weeks passed, and the father returned. "Hi, pop, - says the son - All is
OK, in perfect shape. I also successfully concluded the Smith vs. Jones to
our client's highest satisfaction".
"You idiot - calls the old lawyer - who asked you to win that case? What you
did, you closed a long-term source of income I'd nurtured for the last 10
years! What do you think carried you through the University?".
A lesson to be taken: going fishing means risk taking.
Another lesson: lawyers and fishing don't match well...
And a third one: litigation is not necessarily a source of solutions, but
it's always a source of income.
